UK backs Nigeria Energy Forum
The United Kingdom, has pledged its support for the 2016 Nigeria Energy Forum (NEF 2016), holding from 12th to 13th April, at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos. The UK Minister for International Development, Hon. Nick Hurd, who will be speaking at the event, disclosed this in a letter to the organisers. 'I am keen to keep up the momentum of the Energy Africa campaign and I would be delighted to speak at this event.

China partners Kwara on textile industrial park
The Chinese government has expressed readiness to partner with the Kwara State Government in its efforts to develop a textile industrial park in the state. This was made known at the weekend by the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Gu XiaoJie, when the Kwara State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed led a state's delegation and a Chinese Company, Ming Bo Jin Sheng Star Co. Ltd, to the Ambassador in Abuja.

However if we call romance something else, we may have better luck getting into a man’s head a bit.
What if we call it “making a connection”? Men want to feel that they belong or that they are important. Women call that romance. Men don’t really have a name for it, but “making a connection” will do for now.

The ranking of Yoruba Obas by the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo is gradually snowballing into a controversy.
The Alake, who received the new Ooni of Ife, Oba Ogunwusi Adeyeye at his palace on February 7, had said: “Ooni is one of the five principal Obas in Yoruba land. The others are in order of the way they are classified on a supremacy basis.
After the Ooni is the Alaafin of Oyo; after the Alaafin is the Oba of Benin; after the Oba of Benin, is the Alake of Egbaland and the fifth, and by no means the least, is the Awujale of Ijebuland.”

THE Social Democratic Party, SDP, yesterday denied that N100million was transferred to the company account of its Chairman, Chief Olu Falae, from the Central Bank/ Joint Trust Dimension Nigeria Limited.

Tenant punches landlord dead over electricity bill
DETECTIVES from Ondo State Police Command have arrested one Tope Akideji, who allegedly punched his 75-year-old landlord, Kayode Osunkalu, to death over electricity bill.
Vanguard gathered that the suspect is being interrogated at the homicide section of the Command.
The deceased, a retired civil servant, owned a two-storey building located at 17, Ayeferere, Street in Ondo town.
