issued to kill British author Salman Rushdie

Threats against British author Salman Rushdie have been renewed with the announcement of a $600,000 reward for his assassination by Iranian news outlets.

Some view his novel ‘The Satanic Verses’ as blasphemous as it discusses the history of Islam using what people have claimed is a derogatory term for the Prophet Mohammed.

More than 20 years after the initial demand for his death in February 15 1989, 40 state-run media outlets in Iran have joined together to offer the reward for his execution.

#IRGC announces $600,000 prize for killing British novelist Salman #Rushdie, in addition to $3 million fixed by Ayatollah #Khomeini in '89.
