Manchester city won the capital one cup with Penalty against liverpool

The English League Cup final between Liverpool and Manchester City went to a penalty shootout after the game finished 1-1 following extra time at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

City, seeking a second League Cup crown in three years and fourth in total, took a 49th-minute lead when Fernandinho beat Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet with an angled right-foot shot.

But Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, eight-time winners of the competition, took the game to extra time when Philippe Coutinho followed in to score with seven minutes remaining after substitute Adam Lallana had hit the post.

There were no goals in the extra 30-minute period, so the match went to a penalty shootout.
