This is the mysterious mummified animal that’s been discovered in a
cellar in Turkey, and experts really aren’t sure what it actually is.
The creepy fanged creature was discovered in an old cellar, and
natural history experts still haven’t managed to identify it – although
some believe that it could be prehistoric.
Others think that the creature’s fangs are a giveaway sign that it’s actually a mummified cat.
Speaking to MailOnline, renowned Egyptologist and animal mummies expert Dr Lidija McKnight speculated on the creature’s identity.
She said: ‘It looks like one of the naturally mummified cats we find in Britain – bricked up in chimneys, for example.
‘The tarsel/carpel bones look long which is diagnostic of feline species.’
Describing the creature’s unusual gnashers, Dr McKnight added: ‘The
teeth are a bit weird, but if the soft tissues have record through the
desiccation process, they may just look more pronounced.’
The creature was found underneath the home of locksmith Abdullah
Ozturk, who has since put the remains on display in his shop window.
Abdullah told local media: ‘I called two archaeologist friends who came and examined the skeleton.
